Gown hunting!

Just a really quick update! (: Been a crazily long day but these two days have been so exciting that I must blog a paragraph about it, lest I lost this tingling I got from my gown trying!

As the title says, I have finally tried on some wedding gowns and it is incredibly fun! Our first boutique was Silhouette the Atelier which is located at a quaint shophouse at Emerald Hill. I cannot stop gushing over how nice Caroline, the lady who attended to us is! Firstly, we arrived half an hour late due to a traffic jam and the peak hour. I was honestly feeling a bit deflated about the session as I know the boutique closes at 8 p.m. When we finally arrived, Caroline showed no trace of frustration and contrary to some reviews I had read online, she provided us with lots of ideas and was enthusiastic in letting me try the different gowns their boutique has designed. (: Throughout the process, Caroline was warm and attentive to our thoughts. There was no pressure from her at all, only helpful advice and suggestions from her as a designer, to help us get a clearer idea of what we want. And Silhouette has such beautiful ball gowns! *swoons* There were about 3 gowns that took our breath away and from this visit, it is confirmed that Lenard likes things dramatic. After seeing me in a huge ball gown which made me feel like a princess in a bed of clouds, he felt that nothing else can be compared to the beauty and grandeur of that. By the time we were done with about 7 gowns, it was already 830 p.m. and all I can say is that we felt so blessed to have had the assistance of Caroline and the service at Silhouette has left a deep impression on us. (:

A few hours ago, I visited our second boutique, Dang Bridal. Housed at Soho 1, an appointment must be made before you can even enter the building. I flew solo today as everyone was busy and poor Lenard could not escape work ): but it was alright really! I had a great time tonight as well, with the help of Yu Han, one of the designers at the boutique. Yu Han was great and honest in providing me feedback while helping me select the different gowns to try on. Compared to Silhouette, Dang's style seems slightly different. True to my random research, their strength is in the exquisite Cheongsams hanging on their rack. I love their mermaid gowns as well and I could feel the tug-of-war starting to take place in my heart as the Cloudy ball gown floated back into my mind. I tried about 6 gowns in total including 2 Cheongsams (My first time ever in a Cheongsam too!) and I think I would need Lenard to visit the boutique again with me before we make our final (and hard) decision. Just so fortunate to meet such nice ladies for my gown hunt so far.

At this point, I have scheduled one more visit to Olive Suite, a bridal boutique that looks absolutely captivating from the photographs that I saw on their facebook page. That will be next Saturday though.

Wondering if I should schedule for just one more visit next week to get a better sense of the bridal boutique package offers. Hmm shall sleep on it. (: Updates coming soon!
